About the role
Saltire Care Pty Ltd is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team in Biloela, QLD. This is a casual position that offers flexibility whilst making a meaningful difference in the lives of aged and disability support clients. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in delivering person-centred care and support to individuals within our community, helping them maintain independence, dignity, and quality of life. This position is essential to our mission of providing high-quality, compassionate support services to vulnerable members of our community.
What you'll be doing
- Assisting clients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Providing emotional support and companionship to service users, fostering positive relationships and trust
- Supporting clients with mobility and movement in a safe and respectful manner
- Assisting with meal preparation, feeding and nutritional support as required
- Accompanying clients to appointments, community activities and social outings
- Maintaining accurate and timely records of client care and support provided
- Communicating effectively with clients, families, colleagues and management regarding client needs and progress
- Adhering to all health and safety protocols, policies and procedures
- Promoting client independence and encouraging participation in community engagement
- Supporting clients with household tasks and personal organisation
What we're looking for
- Current or willingness to obtain a valid Working with Children or equivalent screening clearance
- Sound knowledge of aged care or disability support principles and practices
- Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate, person-centred care with respect and dignity
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues
- Physical capability to assist clients safely,
including lifting and mobility support
- Reliability and punctuality, with the flexibility to accommodate casual shift work
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- A genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable individuals and improving their quality of life
- Current First Aid and CPR certification is desirable
- Experience in aged care or disability support services is desirable
