GPR Concrete Scanning Technician

No experience necessary!!!

Coastal Scanning is seeking a motivated and reliable GPR Concrete Scanning Technician to join our growing team.

We specialise in Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) concrete scanning, helping builders, engineers, plumbers, electricians and commercial contractors safely locate reinforcement, post-tension cables, conduits and other embedded services before cutting, coring or drilling concrete.

No previous GPR scanning experience is required—we provide comprehensive, hands-on training. We’re looking for someone with a great attitude, strong work ethic and a genuine interest in learning a specialised trade.

About the Role

This is a hands-on field position where you’ll work independently across a wide variety of construction and commercial sites throughout South East Queensland.

Every day is different. One day you may be scanning a residential slab before plumbing works, the next you could be scanning structural beams for an engineer or locating reinforcement prior to major commercial construction.

You’ll be trained to operate industry-leading Ground Penetrating Radar equipment, interpret scan data, mark findings on site and prepare professional reports for clients.

- Holds a current driver’s licence with a good driving record.





Construction industry experience is highly regarded but not essential.

The following are advantageous:

- White Card

- CPR

- EWP, Working at Heights or other construction tickets

Travel Requirements (Please Read)

This position involves regular travel throughout South East Queensland.

Some days you may complete several jobs between Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Other days may involve travelling to the Sunshine Coast or regional areas for a single project before returning home.

Applicants must be comfortable driving up to approximately 1,000 km per week.

This role is performed independently, so you must be confident working alone, managing your own schedule and communicating professionally with clients.

If you don’t enjoy driving or prefer working alongside a team all day, this position probably isn’t the right fit.

Location

Ideally, you’ll be based in Brisbane, the Gold Coast or anywhere in between, although applicants from surrounding areas are welcome if they’re comfortable with the additional travel.
