Jackson Asphalt is seeking an experienced Civil Foreman to lead our Civil Team

Located out of our Maddington yard, the successful candidate will supervise and coordinate civil works, including base preparation, earthworks, drainage, and final trim ready for asphalt paving. You will lead a team of operators and labourers to deliver high-quality results on time and safely.

Salary

- $45–$50 per hour plus penalties (or equivalent annual package; negotiable based on experience, with super, vehicle allowance potential, and overtime/penalties common in WA civil projects)

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and supervise the Civil Team on-site, including machine operators, labourers, and subcontractors
- Coordinate daily tasks for base preparation, spoil removal, road base delivery, drainage, kerbing, and final trim works
- Ensure precise operation of machinery (skid steer, excavator, roller, plate compactor) through team guidance and quality checks
- Oversee pre-start checks, equipment maintenance, and safe work practices in line with SWMS and risk assessments
- Monitor project progress, maintain records (daily diaries), and report to Project/Project Manager
- Liaise with clients and internal teams
- Enforce health, safety, and quality standards to deliver durable civil prep for asphalt works
- Manage resources (labour, plant, materials) to keep projects on schedule and within specs

Requirements

- Proven experience as a Civil Foreman, Supervisor, or Leading Hand in civil construction, roadworks, subdivisions, or asphalt prep projects




- Strong background in operating(excavator, skid steer, roller, etc.) and civil tasks like earthworks, base prep, and drainage
- White Card (mandatory)
- Road Ranger HR licence (preferable)
- Sound understanding of civil construction standards, safety regulations, and quality control in WA
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach
- Ability to read plans/specs, manage teams safely, and work independently under pressure
- Reliable with a solid work ethic and commitment to long-term opportunities
