About the Role

Reporting to the senior management team, you will be responsible for improving operational performance, managing engineering projects, and ensuring plant and production systems operate safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and review organisational structures, work processes and project information to improve operational efficiency.
- Analyse workforce utilisation, production schedules, equipment performance and operational costs to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Establish work measurement programs and labour utilisation standards.
- Design and develop plant layouts, mechanical equipment, systems and production processes.
- Prepare engineering specifications, including materials, equipment selection, piping, capacities and plant layouts.
- Coordinate project labour, plant mobilisation and material deliveries to meet project schedules.
- Develop and implement engineering standards, quality control procedures, maintenance strategies and inspection programs.
- Conduct inspections and performance reviews to maximise plant reliability and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate maintenance schedules and engineering improvements for existing and recent plant.
- Ensure all engineering activities comply with relevant Australian Standards, legislation and workplace safety requirements.
- Optimise production processes to improve efficiency, productivity and equipment utilisation.




- Analyse production data and implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs and increase output.
- Evaluate manufacturing or processing methods and recommend engineering improvements.
- Develop and monitor production performance indicators and implement corrective actions.
- Investigate equipment failures and production bottlenecks, recommending engineering solutions.
- Plan commissioning, testing and performance validation of new plant and equipment.
- Conduct engineering analysis to improve plant capacity, reliability and operational performance

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in production, plant or mechanical engineering within the mining, civil construction or heavy industry sectors.
- Strong understanding of plant operations, maintenance planning and continuous improvement principles.
- Experience analysing operational data and implementing efficiency improvements.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Sound knowledge of Australian engineering standards and WHS legislation.
- Current Australian Driver's Licence.
- Full Australian working rights (or eligibility to obtain).

Pay: $95,000.00 – $105,000.00 per year
