Code Black Coffee is looking for specialty baristas and barista leaders with passion and experience to join one of our awesome teams. If you think you're a standout barista and a real gun behind the machine, then we want you!

We’re looking for someone who is serious about making fantastic coffee, dedicated to providing outstanding customer service and who wants to enjoy coming to work in a fun but professional environment. Code Black Coffee is simultaneously a laboratory, a creative kitchen, a workshop, and a hub for connoisseurs of the dark art and science of coffee.

We believe that a outstanding barista not only makes amazing coffee, but they also demonstrate a range of other skills such as great customer service, good communication skills, a high level of common sense and the ability to work well under pressure. To be considered for a Barista position you will have the following:

- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a full time specialty Barista
- Be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of specialty coffee making techniques
- Have an incredible passion for coffee
- Have a high level of professionalism
- Be confident and have solid experience in high volume specialty coffee
- Able to maintain extremely high standards under pressure
- Be well presented and friendly
- Be able to work well in a team and communicate politely and effectively




- Be able to speak English confidently and fluently

A Code Black Head Barista/Supervisor not only makes amazing coffee but is also keen to share their knowledge and skills with other employees, as well as customers. This job would be ideal for a current Head Barista looking for a change or an experienced and knowledgeable Senior Barista who wants to step up and take on extra responsibility.

To be considered for a Head Barista position you will have the following:

- Preferably a minimum of 1 year previous supervisory/management experience
- A strong work ethic
- Have an incredible passion for coffee and the desire to share this with others
- Have a high level of professionalism and the ability to lead and teach others with respect
- Be confident, cheerful, well-presented and friendly
- Able to maintain extremely high standards under pressure
- Experience in high volume specialty coffee is necessary

Hours:

Baristas: 3-5 days (approx 25-38 hours per week)

Head Baristas: 5 days (38 hours per week)

Location: CBD, Brunswick, North Melbourne or Cremorne

Requirements: at least 2 years' experience in a similar role, and your current Victorian RSA
