Acquaintance Care is a fast growing, local disability support provider dedicated to empowering people with disabilities to live independently and with choice. We’re looking for compassionate and reliable casual Support Workers to join our team and make a real difference in our participants’ lives.
About the role:
You’ll provide personalised support in Supported Independent Living homes, short-term accommodation, and community settings. This includes assisting with daily living tasks, personal care, social activities, and household routines. Your role is key in helping participants build capacity and enjoy meaningful community connections.
Key responsibilities:
- Assist with personal care such as showering, dressing, and eating
- Support participants to attend appointments, go shopping, and engage socially
- Help with household duties including cooking and cleaning
- Provide companionship and build respectful, trusting relationships
- Support clients with high physical needs or behaviours of concern
- Communicate effectively with participants and the support team to ensure goals are met
What we’re looking for:
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability,
or similar qualification, or willingness to work towards this
- NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working With Children Check
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates
- Valid driver’s license and access to a fully insured vehicle
- Experience supporting people with disabilities, mental health, or complex needs is a plus
- Reliable, empathetic, and flexible with solid communication skills
- Comfortable using smartphones and basic IT for communication
