Help Shape the Next Chapter of a Well-Loved Glebe Café
An established café in the heart of Glebe is looking for a passionate and experienced chef to join the team and help shape its next chapter.
We are seeking someone who enjoys creating fresh, appealing café food, works efficiently during busy service, and is comfortable contributing ideas to menu development and kitchen operations.
This is a hands-on role with genuine opportunity to influence the future direction of the kitchen.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and presenting high-quality breakfast and lunch dishes
- Managing day-to-day kitchen service
- Maintaining consistency, quality and presentation
- Helping refine and improve the existing menu
- Creating weekly and seasonal specials
- Managing stock, ordering and inventory
- Controlling food costs and minimising waste
- Maintaining excellent food safety and hygiene standards
- Supporting and guiding other kitchen staff
- Working closely with management to improve efficiency and customer experience
About You
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience as a café chef, sous chef or head chef
- Strong breakfast, brunch and lunch experience
- The ability to work calmly and efficiently during busy periods
- Good knowledge of food costing and stock control
- Excellent organisation and cleanliness
- A positive, reliable and practical approach
- Confidence contributing ideas and improving systems
- Food Safety Supervisor certification, or willingness to obtain it
