Kuld CreameryFull-time — 38 hours per weekFremantle, Northbridge and Rottnest Island locations

About Kuld Creamery

Kuld Creamery is a family owned craft ice cream business known for producing exceptional small-batch ice cream, baked goods and seasonal desserts.

We operate stores in Fremantle and Northbridge, along with seasonal operations on Rottnest Island and in Broome. Across each location, we are fortunate to have an incredibly loyal and diverse community of customers, a hardworking team and products we are so incredibly proud to serve!

As we prepare for the upcoming summer season, we are looking for an experienced Store Supervisor who has a passion for hospitality, customer service and loves ice cream. They will help lead our retail locations and support our team through our busiest and most exciting time of year.

About the role

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys being actively involved in the day-to-day operation of a business.

You will work closely with the owners and retail team to ensure our stores are organised, well stocked, properly staffed and consistently delivering the level of customer experience Kuld Creamery is known for.

The role is primarily based across our Fremantle and Northbridge stores, with involvement in our seasonal Rottnest Island operations where required.

You will spend time working alongside the team on the floor, while also taking ownership of the planning, communication and administrative work required to keep shops operating effectively.

Key responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

- Leading and supporting the retail team across locations

- Maintaining a welcoming and professional customer experience
- Coordinating weekly rosters, shift coverage, timesheets and staff availability
- Providing explicit daily direction and ensuring responsibilities are followed through
- Supporting the recruitment, onboarding and training of new team members
- Monitoring store presentation, cleanliness, food safety and operating standards
- Coordinating stock orders, store transfers, consumables and weekly top-ups
- Identifying problems early and taking practical steps to resolve them
- Communicating clearly with the owners, kitchen team and other locations
- Managing staff concerns and performance issues in a fair and professional manner
- Supporting seasonal planning
- Ensuring important tasks are completed correctly and on time.

The responsibilities will vary throughout the week. Some days will be focused on leading a busy shift, while others will involve planning rosters, reviewing stock, training staff or preparing the stores for upcoming trade.

Experience and requirements

The successful candidate will ideally have:

- Supervisory or management experience within retail, hospitality or food service
- Experience preparing rosters and coordinating shift coverage
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good administrative and organisational ability

- Confidence using point-of-sale, rostering and workplace communication systems
- An understanding of food safety and workplace health and safety requirements
- The ability to work across different store locations
- Reliable transport and the ability to travel between locations where required
- Full Australian working rights

A Food Safety Supervisor certificate would be beneficial, although training can be provided for the right candidate.

Hours and availability

This is a permanent full-time position averaging 38 hours per week.

The role operates across a rotating roster and will include a combination of weekday, evening, weekend and public-holiday work. Greater flexibility will be required during summer, school holidays and other peak trading periods.

Retail and hospitality do not always run according to a standard Monday-to-Friday schedule, so applicants should be realistic and comfortable with the availability the role requires.

Remuneration: $62K - $75K Based on experience, with superannuation.

How to apply

Please submit:

- Your current CV
- A short introduction outlining your relevant experience
- Why this type of hands-on leadership role appeals to you
- Your general availability and preferred commencement date

We are less interested in receiving a generic cover letter than we are in understanding how you lead people, solve problems and take responsibility when things become busy or unexpected.

Applications will be reviewed as they are received.

Thank you,

Kuld Creamery team
