What's the role?

The Toowoomba Chronicle is seeking an experienced Reporter with a strong news sense and the ability to drive a daily news agenda.

You will be an aspiring, ambitious and experienced writer who is an organised self-starter with a knack for recognising and pursuing quality content that appeals to our audience and drives online engagement.

About the role:

- Oversee and drive daily content for online and print
- Manage news, event and content planning
- Identify biggest stories of the day and drive through to publication
- Work under deadline pressure in a fast‑paced newsroom environment
- Lead journalists to drive subscriber growth and retention
- Oversee the generation of engaging content and search for fresh stories that are not already breaking

Who are you?

- An ambitious storyteller with exceptional news judgment
- Multiple years of reporting experience
- Solid digital and print experience and ability to drive audience growth
- Experience overseeing the writing of quality content to tight deadlines is desired
- You are a team player with excellent communication skills and knowledge of an extensive range of topics
