Mental Health Clinician, Acute Care Team, Casual Pool - Sutherland MHS

Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver evidence‑based, person‑centred acute mental health services in line with SESLHD policies, procedures, and standards.
- Operate across a 7‑day rotating roster, including morning and afternoon shifts with opportunities for casual shifts.
- Provide specialist interventions including triage, comprehensive risk assessments, clinical formulation, safety planning, brief psychoeducation, and team-oriented discharge planning.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with consumers, families, and internal and external stakeholders to ensure holistic, coordinated care.

Role Requirements
- Social Worker or Occupational Therapist qualifications per Schedule C of NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award, current full registration with AHPRA and/or eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers, or equivalent.
- Registered Nurse with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Psychologist with a four‑year degree in psychology and registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA).
- Demonstrated experience in comprehensive mental health assessments and interventions, including risk assessments, safety planning, and collaborative care and discharge planning.
- Demonstrated high‑level written, verbal, and interpersonal skills to engage patients/clients and work effectively with the multidisciplinary team.
- Experience exercising independent professional judgement using evidence‑based practice commensurate with years of experience.
- Commitment to the use and application of professional and clinical digital technologies.
- Participation or leadership in quality improvement processes and teaching commensurate with years of experience.
- Ability to respond to demands and pressures of the role while managing time effectively.
- Current drivers licence with willingness to travel as required.
