Northam Discount Drug Store is seeking a Dose Administration Aid Coordinator to join our pharmacy team on a full-time basis, based in Northam WA 6401. This is a pivotal role within our healthcare operations, responsible for coordinating and overseeing the preparation and administration of dose administration aids (DAAs) to ensure patients receive their medications safely and accurately.

You will play an essential part in our commitment to delivering exceptional pharmaceutical care to our community, managing a critical service that directly impacts patient compliance and health outcomes.

Key responsibilities

- Coordinating the preparation and organisation of dose administration aids for multiple patients according to prescribed medication regimens
- Verifying medication information and patient details to ensure accuracy and prevent dispensing errors
- Maintaining comprehensive records of all DAA preparations and patient medication profiles
- Communicating with prescribers, aged care facilities, healthcare providers and patients regarding medication queries and DAA requirements
- Managing inventory and stock levels of medications designated for DAA preparation
- Ensuring compliance with pharmaceutical regulations, professional standards and workplace health and safety requirements
- Training and supervising pharmacy staff involved in DAA preparation processes
- Quality assuring prepared DAAs before distribution to ensure they meet pharmacist approval standards
- Contributing to continuous improvement of DAA processes and operational procedures

What we're looking for

- Relevant qualification or certification as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Assistant, or equivalent experience in pharmacy operations
- Demonstrated experience working with dose administration aids or similar medication management systems




- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all pharmaceutical work
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with healthcare professionals, patients and aged care providers
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, medication classifications and drug interactions
- Proficiency with pharmacy computer systems and electronic health records
- Understanding of Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) guidelines and privacy legislation relevant to pharmacy practice
- A customer-focused approach with compassion and professionalism when interacting with patients
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative pharmacy team
- Current First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it
