Factory Maintenance Technician / Fitter

Location: Lonsdale, South Australia

The Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Factory Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance Team at our Lonsdale manufacturing facility.

Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and reliability of our production equipment and factory infrastructure.

This position is ideally suited to a qualified Fitter & Turner, however we also welcome applications from candidates with transferable mechanical maintenance experience from similar manufacturing or industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

- Performing preventative and breakdown maintenance on manufacturing equipment
- Maintaining plastic extrusion, printing press and bag conversion machinery
- Greasing, servicing and inspecting production equipment
- Removing, cleaning and reinstalling mechanical components
- Coolant flushing and replacement
- Diagnosing and resolving mechanical faults and equipment breakdowns
- Repairing damaged threads,



bolts and mechanical components
- Troubleshooting and repairing pneumatic systems
- Carrying out general maintenance and repairs throughout the factory
- Assisting with continuous improvement initiatives to maximise equipment reliability

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Trade qualifications as a Fitter & Turner (preferred but not essential)
- Mechanical experience within a manufacturing, industrial or relevant environment
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Experience with pneumatic systems (desirable but not essential)
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- A strong commitment to workplace safety

Working Hours

This role involves rotating between day(6am-2.06pm and afternoon shifts(2pm-10.06pm, with the afternoon shift attracting a 20% shift loading.

Occasional overtime and Saturday morning work may be required and will be available when operational needs demand.
