About the Role

As a Mechanical & Piping Designer / Senior Mechanical & Piping Designer, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality mechanical and piping design solutions across a diverse range of mining, minerals processing, industrial and infrastructure projects. Working alongside experienced engineers and designers, you'll contribute to projects from concept through to detailed design while developing your technical expertise in a collaborative and supportive environment. Based in our Perth CBD office, conveniently located near public transport, this role includes ad-hoc FIFO travel as required to support project delivery on site.

As part of our multidisciplinary team, you will:

- Develop 3D models, detailed design drawings for mechanical and piping systems.

- Produce general arrangement drawings, piping layouts & isometrics, process plant equipment, conveyors, mechanical platework detail design drawings.

- Coordinate mechanical and piping designs with structural, civil, electrical and process disciplines.

- Assist with design reviews, model reviews and clash detection.

- Prepare documentation in accordance with Australian Standards, client specifications and project requirements.

- Participate in site inspections, field verification and design support during construction as required.

- Ensure designs are delivered safely, accurately and within project schedules.





- Senior Mechanical & Piping Designers will also provide technical guidance, mentor junior designers and lead design work packages where required.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- A relevant qualification in Mechanical Design, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

- Mechanical & Piping Designer: Minimum 5+ years' design and drafting experience.

- Senior Mechanical & Piping Designer: Minimum 10+ years' experience delivering mechanical and piping design projects within mining, industrial or heavy engineering environments.

- Proficiency with industry-standard 3D CAD software such as OpenBuildings Designer or SolidWorks

- A sound understanding of piping design principles, mechanical equipment layout and Australian Standards.

- Robust communication skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams or on stand alone projects.

- Previous site experience - highly regarded

- Full working rights in Australia - required
