About the role
Silkwood Homes Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Production Estimator to join our team based in Nerang, QLD. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in our construction operations. As a Production Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate bill of quantities and project analyses that directly impact our business profitability and competitive positioning in the residential construction market. Your work will be fundamental to ensuring projects are priced competitively whilst maintaining healthy margins and delivering excellent value to our clients.

Key responsibilities

1. Prepare detailed BOQ for residential construction projects based on plans, specifications, and site conditions

2. Analyse project documentation and requirements to identify all material, labour and equipment costs

3. Obtain and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing

4. Utilise Databuild, Bluebeam and tools to calculate project costs accurately and efficiently

5. Identify and develop strategies to mitigate project overruns

6. Maintain comprehensive estimating records and documentation for future reference and analysis

7. Review quotes and contracts to ensure accuracy and compliance with company standards

What we're looking for

1. Proven experience working as an Estimator within the residential construction or building industry .

2. Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, labour costs and industry standards

3. Proficiency with estimating software packages – Databuild,



Bluebeam, Onsite Companion, and Microsoft Office applications

4. Excellent numerical and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail

5. The ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings and specifications accurately

6. Strong communication and negotiation skills to liaise effectively with suppliers and stakeholders

7. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

8. A professional qualification or certification in construction estimating or a related field (desirable)

9. Knowledge of Queensland & New South Wales building codes, standards, and compliance requirements

10. Proficiency in reading and understanding construction plans, engineering plans & soil test report
