At General Crane Services, we're looking for a proactive and organised Transport Coordinator to join our Regional Resource & Planning team based in Cockburn Central.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys coordinating people and equipment, and takes pride in delivering secure, efficient and compliant transport operations.
About the role
Reporting to the Northwest Regional Manager you will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day transport operations that keep our business moving.
Responsibilities
- Coordinating daily truck schedules and driver rosters
- Allocating prime movers, trailers and transport equipment to meet operational requirements
- Managing driver fatigue compliance and transport-related legislation
- Coordinating vehicle servicing, maintenance and defect management with the Maintenance Team
- Raising purchase orders and coordinating transport-related costs
- Arranging subcontract transport and engaging approved external suppliers when required
- Obtaining permits and approvals for heavy vehicle and crane movements
- Maintaining accurate scheduling records and transport documentation
- Supporting the Planning and Mobilisation teams as required
About you
- Previous experience in transport coordination, logistics or fleet management
- Knowledge of heavy vehicle operations and fatigue management requirements
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving
- Experience using transport scheduling or fleet management systems will be highly regarded
- Working knowledge WA's heavy vehicle network, key transport routes, permit requirements and regional locations throughout the Pilbara and North West, is highly desirable.
- Ideally, you'll have 5+ years' experience in transport coordination, logistics or fleet management.
