Casual Position - Available to start on 13th July to 13th August (approx.)
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Workshop Assistant to join our team on a casual basis for approximately 1 month with the potential for ongoing periodic work for the right candidate. This role is based in a workshop environment and involves assisting with the refurbishment, repair, and restoration of mechanical equipment.
Position Details
- Casual opportunity (38 hours per week)
- Available to start on 13th July
- Above award rate (Building & Construction Award) $40 per hour + super (includes Fares & Travel allowances)
Key Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting the Workshop Manager with the refurbishment, repair, and restoration of mechanical equipment
- Surface preparation and painting of mechanical equipment
- Transporting materials, tools, and equipment between worksites
- Running errands and deliveries as required
- Loading, unloading, handling, and storing materials safely and efficiently
- General labouring duties including digging, shoveling, and moving materials
- Assisting with building and renovation projects when required
- Maintaining tools and equipment in good working order
- Working collaboratively with team members to meet project milestones and deadlines
- Following supervisor instructions and completing tasks to a high standard within required timeframes
Skills & Requirements
- Must have Current Queensland Driver licence
- Must have High Risk Work (HRW Forklift) licence with min 12 month forklift operation experience
- Spray painting experience highly regarded
- Physically fit and capable of heavy lifting
- Comfortable working in an industrial workshop environment
- Robust work ethic with a willingness to undertake hands-on labour
- Ability to stand, kneel, and bend for extended periods
- Candidates must be fit for work and able to maintain safety standards throughout the shift.
