The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the CEO & The Board, the Chief Financial Officer is responsible for the financial health, governance and commercial performance of The Jewellery Group.
As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will provide strategic advice to the CEO and Board while leading Finance, Information Technology, Payroll and Legal.
Beyond your functional responsibilities, you will help shape the future direction of the organisation through strategic planning, business transformation, investment decisions, operational improvement and leadership across the wider business.
You will influence decisions that impact every employee, every store and every customer.
Executive Leadership
- Partner with the CEO in developing and executing the Group strategy.
- Contribute to Executive Leadership Team decision-making across every business function.
- Lead strategic business planning and long-term financial sustainability.
- Support acquisitions, investments and future growth opportunities.
- Drive accountability and performance across the organisation.
- Build a culture of commercial thinking and operational excellence.
What You Will Be Leading
- Finance
- Lead all financial operations, governance and reporting.
- Develop annual budgets, forecasts and long-term financial plans.
- Manage treasury, banking relationships and cash flow.
- Deliver insightful Board reporting and executive analysis.
- Ensure robust financial controls and compliance.
- Drive profitability, EBITDA growth and return on investment.
- Oversee taxation, audit and statutory obligations.
- Lead financial modelling and capital investment decisions.
Information Technology
- Develop and execute the Group's technology strategy.
- Lead ERP optimisation and digital transformation initiatives.
- Strengthen cyber security and business continuity.
- Improve reporting, automation and business intelligence.
- Manage external technology partners and vendors.
Payroll
- Ensure accurate, compliant and timely payroll delivery.
- Strengthen payroll governance and controls.
- Improve payroll systems and operational processes.
- Ensure compliance across multiple industrial instruments and legislation.
Legal & Governance
- Manage corporate governance and legal compliance.
- Oversee commercial contracts and lease obligations.
- Manage relationships with external legal advisors.
- Identify and mitigate organisational risk.
- Support Board governance requirements.
What You Will Bring
You are an experienced executive with exceptional commercial judgement and a passion for building successful businesses.
You understand retail, enjoy solving complex commercial problems and believe finance should enable growth rather than simply report results.
You are confident enough to challenge thinking, humble enough to listen and experienced enough to influence decisions at Executive and Board level.
Most importantly, you know that great leadership is measured by the success of the people around you.
CPA or CA qualified.
Executive leadership experience within a multi-site retail or consumer business.
Proven experience as a CFO, Finance Director or equivalent senior executive.
Experience presenting to Boards and Executive Committees.
Strong financial planning, reporting and governance capability.
Commercial experience influencing operational performance.
Experience leading organisational transformation.
Outstanding leadership and stakeholder management skills.
