About the role

Rescom Joinery is seeking a Senior Estimator to join our team in a full-time capacity based in Helensvale, QLD 4212. In this strategic role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for construction and joinery projects. As a Senior Estimator, you will play a crucial role in our business operations, directly influencing project profitability, pricing strategies, and our competitive position in the market. Your expertise will be essential in supporting both our sales team and project delivery teams to ensure we secure the right projects at the right price.

Key responsibilities

1. Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction and joinery projects of varying complexity and scale

2. Analyse project specifications, architectural drawings, and technical documentation to determine material quantities, labour requirements, and project timelines

3. Conduct site visits and assessments to gather information necessary for accurate estimating

4. Liaise with suppliers to obtain competitive quotes and pricing for materials and subcontractor services

5. Review and validate estimates to ensure accuracy, completeness, and competitiveness before submission to clients

6. Maintain detailed records of all estimates, quotes, and pricing data for future reference and analysis

7. Support the sales team by providing timely estimates and responding to client enquiries regarding project costs

8. Collaborate with project managers to identify cost variances between estimates and actual project performance, and contribute to continuous improvement processes

9. Mentor and provide guidance to junior estimating staff as required

10. Stay current with industry trends,



material costs, labour rates, and market conditions to ensure estimates remain competitive and accurate

What we're looking for

1. Minimum 7-10 years' experience working as an estimator in the joinery industry

2. Proven track record of preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates on projects of significant scale and complexity

3. Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, materials, labour standards, and industry best practices

4. Advanced proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and AI.

5. Excellent mathematical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail

6. Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and technical documentation

7. Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal teams

8. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously whilst maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines

9. Professional qualifications or formal training in estimating, quantity surveying, or construction management (desirable but not essential)
