Tell me about this role

The Strategic Communications Advisor is responsible for delivering high-quality media, briefing, and communications support to ensure clear, consistent, and strategic messaging supporting a priority Defence program.

In addition, the role leads the development and implementation of communication products tailored to a range of internal and external audiences, ensuring messaging is timely, engaging, and fit-for-purpose.

Eligibility: Active NV1 clearance or higher

What will I be doing day to day?

- Draft and coordinate media materials, such as press releases, talking points, and responses to media enquiries
- Deliver brief writing while maintaining alignment with organisational priorities and reputational considerations
- Prepare concise, accurate, and well‑structured briefs for senior leaders
- Transform complex information into clear recommendations, key messages, and risk considerations to support effective decision-making
- Collaborate with stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and consistency

- Strong writing, editing, and stakeholder engagement skills are essential
- The ability to exercise sound judgement, adapt messaging to different contexts, and uphold a high standard of professionalism in all communications outputs
