Hill McGlynn is partnering with an established, fast-growing national last-mile distribution business to appoint an Operations Manager for its Wetherill Park operation. This is a high-volume, temperature-controlled pick-pack operation running to tight same-day despatch windows.
It is fast, it is hands-on, and it needs a strong warehouse operator to take ownership and lift it. A excellent opportunity for a leader who wants to run a busy site their own way and grow with a business that is still expanding nationally.

The role

- Full operational ownership of a fast-paced pick-pack and last-mile fulfilment operation
- Lead high-volume carton and unit picking across chilled and ambient stock (this is a pick-pack site, not pallet in, pallet out)
- Manage and develop supervisors and a large warehouse team across extended operating hours
- Own service performance against tight despatch cut-offs and customer KPIs
- Drive labour planning, cost control and site metrics including DIFOT, pick accuracy and safety
- Embed structure and process, and keep improving the operation as volumes grow
- Work closely with transport and customers to hold service levels high

About you





- Proven operations management experience in 3PL, FMCG distribution or high-volume fulfilment
- Strong background in carton and unit pick-pack, e-commerce or last-mile fulfilment, rather than purely pallet-based warehousing
- A track record of lifting and scaling operations and teams, not just maintaining them
- Strong people leadership. You develop supervisors, lift a team through change and hold standards under pressure
- Commercially sharp on labour, cost and service metrics
- Hands-on when it counts. This is a fast site that needs a leader on the floor, not behind a desk
- Fresh, chilled or temperature-controlled experience well regarded
- Available at short notice is a real advantage
