About the role

Specialised Plaster & Construction is seeking an experienced Plastering Supervisor - Commercial to join our team in Northern Tasmania. This is a full-time position that offers the opportunity to lead and oversee commercial plastering projects of varying scales and complexity. As Plastering Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing teams, ensuring quality workmanship, maintaining project timelines, and upholding safety standards across all commercial projects. This role is integral to our operations and directly impacts project success, client satisfaction, and our reputation within the commercial building trades sector.

Key responsibilities

- Supervise and manage plastering teams on commercial construction projects, ensuring productivity and quality standards are consistently met

- Coordinate daily work schedules, allocate tasks, and manage resource allocation across multiple projects

- Inspect plastering work and ensure compliance with building codes, specifications, and contractual requirements

- Monitor project progress and report on timelines, budgets, and any issues to senior management

- Maintain accurate records of labour, materials, and project documentation

- Conduct toolbox meetings and communicate safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment

- Liaise with contractors, builders, and other trades to coordinate workflow and resolve on-site issues

- Train and mentor apprentices and junior staff members, fostering professional development within the team

- Manage material ordering and stock control to optimise efficiency and minimise waste

- Ensure all Health and Safety regulations are adhered to, including incident reporting and risk assessments

What we're looking for

- Minimum 7+ years' experience in commercial plastering, with at least 4 years in a supervisory or leading hand capacity

- Proven expertise in all commercial plastering techniques, including internal and external renders, plasterboard application, and finishing

- Strong knowledge of building codes, safety standards,



and compliance requirements relevant to commercial construction

- Demonstrated ability to manage teams, delegate effectively, and maintain positive working relationships

- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders

- Experience with project planning, scheduling, and budget management

- Current or valid driver's licence

- A commitment to continuous improvement and staying updated with industry best practices

- Preferred: Construction induction card (White Card) or equivalent safety certification

- Preferred: Previous experience managing commercial projects valued at $500,000 or above
