The Marian Centre is a part of the Aurora Healthcare Group. We offer inpatient care and day patient group programs for patients living with mental health conditions. We are a 69 bedded voluntary psychiatric hospital situated in the medical precinct in Wembley.
About the Role
The Marian Centre is dedicated to delivering exceptional standards of mental health care and continually striving for clinical excellence. We are seeking passionate and dedicated Allied Health Therapists to join our multidisciplinary team.
In this role, you will primarily develop and facilitate group therapeutic activities, ensuring high standards of patient care that drive positive health outcomes using established therapeutic frameworks such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
Therapy Staff - Provisional Psychologists, Psychologists, Mental Health Social Workers, Occupational Therapists and Mental Health Nurses - Full time, part time or casual basis.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide evidence-therapeutic care by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating mental health care in collaboration with patients and the multidisciplinary team.
- Coordinate, develop, facilitate and evaluate targeted group therapy programs
- Maintain accurate daily records and provide detailed written documentation on clinical interventions and observations.
- Support a harmonious work setting through effective communication and a curious approach to learning
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses and other allied health team members to provide the highest patient care and outcomes.
Essential criteria:
- Current AHPRA registration
- Demonstrated experience working in a mental health setting
- Experience and/or strong foundational knowledge in group therapy principles
- Understanding and commitment to the role of an Allied Health clinician within a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work individually and in a team environment
- Sound computer literacy, experience using Digital Medical Records or similar is preferred
- Current Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance
Desirable criteria:
- Previous experience working in a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated experience working across a range of mental health issues and within group therapy settings.
- Demonstrated experience/training in a range of therapy modalities (CBT, DBT, ACT, Mindfulness)
- Demonstrated experience working with comorbid mental health issues
