About the role

Equal Grounds Support Services are seeking passionate and dedicated Support Workers and/or Gardeners to join our team in Gladstone, Queensland.

As a casual Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate and individualised care to our clients, many of whom are older adults or have a disability. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of the people we serve.

As a casual Gardener, this role combines lawn and garden maintenance with supporting an NDIS participant in meaningful employment. You will work alongside and mentor a client while delivering quality lawn and garden maintenance services for NDIS participants, aged care clients and community members. This role involves mowing, whipper snipping, edging, general garden maintenance and encouraging the client's skill development, confidence and independence in a supportive work environment.

What you'll be doing

- Assisting clients with their daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and gardening

- Accompanying clients to appointments, social activities, and community events

- Providing emotional support and engaging clients in meaningful activities to improve their quality of life

- Collaborating with the broader care team to ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centred support

- Adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, and safety protocols

What we're looking for

- A genuine passion for supporting older adults and individuals with disabilities

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients

- Previous experience in a similar role,



or a relevant qualification in community services or aged care

- Minimum of 1+ years experience in a similar support worker role is required

- Candidates without experience must hold a Certificate III Individual Support qualification

- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, public holidays and Sleepovers

- A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle

- A willingness to undergo a National Police Check and obtain a Working with Children Check

- Working with Children Check must be obtained before starting work
