Facilitatrix
Perth
Facilitatrix is a well-established Western Australian disability organisation providing specialist services to people with disability, their families and support networks.
We work with individuals whose lives and support environments can be complex.
As a result, we value practitioners who can look beyond behaviour in isolation and understand the person within the context of their relationships, communication, environment, health, culture, history and support systems.
We also recognise that positive practitioners need good environments themselves. Our model supports flexible working from home, practitioner autonomy, accessible leadership, collaboration and ongoing professional development. We want our team to have the space to do excellent work, while remaining connected to colleagues who can offer support when needed.
About You
You already know how to be a practitioner. Perhaps you are ready to help shape the practice around you.
We are seeking an experienced Proficient Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our growing PBS team on either a full-time or part-time basis. For part-time applicants, a minimum availability of 3 days per week is required.
You are someone who understands that effective Positive Behaviour Support is built on curiosity, strong clinical reasoning, meaningful relationships and a genuine commitment to people's rights and quality of life.
You are confident in your practice but continue to ask questions. You can work autonomously while remaining collaborative and connected to others.
Ideally, you are also beginning to think about what comes next, whether that involves mentoring, contributing to clinical development or gradually building leadership capability as our service grows.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Completing comprehensive functional behaviour assessments and developing high-quality Behaviour Support Plans
- Developing behavioural formulations informed by multiple sources of evidence
- Identifying environmental, relational, communication, sensory, health and contextual factors that influence behaviour and quality of life
- Working collaboratively with participants and those who know them best
- Supporting implementation through coaching, education and stakeholder training
- Providing practical and clinically sound recommendations
- Supporting the reduction and elimination of restrictive practices wherever possible
- Identifying and responding appropriately to restrictive practices and safeguarding concerns
- Working within the requirements of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission and the Behaviour Support Capability Framework
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and other service providers
- Monitoring outcomes and adapting interventions based on evidence and participant experience
- Maintaining high-quality clinical documentation
- Contributing to reflective practice, case discussions and the ongoing development of the PBS team
- Supporting mentoring and emerging leadership activities where appropriate
What makes this role different?
A genuine WFH model
Our practitioners work primarily from home while balancing participant visits, stakeholder meetings and regular opportunities to connect with colleagues. You will have flexibility in how you structure your week while remaining part of a collaborative and supportive team.
Clinical quality matters
For us, PBS is about more than meeting deadlines. We want practitioners to understand the person, undertake meaningful assessment and develop strategies that can be successfully implemented within real-world environments. Sometimes good practice means slowing down long enough to ask a better question. We value that approach.
A pathway for growth
As Facilitatrix continues to grow, we are committed to developing leadership from within. For practitioners interested in mentoring, supervision and leadership, there is genuine opportunity to progressively develop toward future Team Lead responsibilities. Leadership is not expected on day one, but the opportunity is there for those who want to grow into it.
You will ideally bring:
- Current Proficient Behaviour Support Practitioner suitability
- Minimum 2 years of delivering Positive Behaviour Support within the disability sector
- Strong skills in Functional Behaviour Assessment and Behaviour Support Plan development
- Knowledge of restrictive practices and relevant NDIS requirements
- Experience supporting people with complex support needs
- Strong clinical reasoning and formulation skills
- The ability to translate assessment findings into practical, meaningful strategies
- Excellent written communication and clinical documentation skills
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
- The ability to manage your workload independently and meet regulatory timeframes
- A collaborative approach to multidisciplinary practice
- Commitment to reflective practice and ongoing professional development
- A human rights and least-restrictive practice lens
- Curiosity, emotional maturity and openness to feedback
Experience mentoring or supervising other practitioners will be highly regarded.

In addition, we offer:
