James Tiling Co. Pty Ltd is a Newcastle-based wall and floor tiling contractor delivering premium residential and commercial tiling services throughout Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, the Hunter Region and the Central Coast.

We specialise in new home construction, multi-unit developments, luxury residential projects and commercial fit-outs, working with leading builders who expect a consistently high standard of workmanship.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Wall and Floor Tiler to join our team on a full-time permanent basis.

Salary

$75,000 – $85,000 per annum + Superannuation

(Salary will be negotiated based on qualifications, skills and relevant industry experience.)

Key Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be responsible for, but not limited to:

- Reading architectural drawings, construction plans and tile schedules.

- Planning tile layouts and accurately setting out wall and floor installations.

- Preparing wall and floor substrates to industry standards.

- Constructing screeds to specified levels and compliant falls for wet areas.

- Installing ceramic, porcelain, natural stone and large-format rectified tiles to residential and commercial projects.

- Measuring,



cutting and shaping tiles using professional tile cutting equipment.

- Producing premium mitred external corners and high-quality feature finishes where specified.

- Installing floor wastes, trims, movement joints and transition details.

- Applying grout, silicone and final finishing to a professional standard.

- Carrying out defect rectification and repair works where required.

- Coordinating daily activities with builders, supervisors and other trades.

- Maintaining excellent quality assurance standards throughout all stages of installation.

- Working safely in accordance with WHS requirements and company procedures.

- Maintaining tools, equipment and work areas in a clean and organised condition.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must demonstrate:

- AQF Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling (or equivalent), or at least three years of relevant industry experience.

- Proven experience in residential and/or commercial wall and floor tiling.

- Strong experience constructing screeds and achieving compliant falls for wet areas.

- Demonstrated experience installing large-format rectified porcelain tiles.

- High-level competency producing premium mitred tile finishes.

- Strong understanding of substrate preparation, tile adhesives, grouting systems and finishing techniques.





- Ability to read construction drawings and complete work with minimal supervision.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.

- Excellent time management and organisational skills.

- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

- Current White Card.

- Current Australian Driver Licence (preferred).

- Willingness to travel between various project locations throughout Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Hunter Region and the Central Coast.

Highly Regarded

Experience with any of the following will be highly regarded:

- Multi-unit residential developments.

- Luxury residential construction.

- Commercial fit-out projects.

- Waterproofing coordination.

- Premium rectified porcelain installations.

- Defect rectification.

- Silicone finishing to architectural standards.
