Associate Urban Planner

$130,000 - $140,000 + superannuation + Bonuses
Our client is a highly regarded planning and development consultancy with a strong presence across Western Australia, delivering a diverse range of strategic and statutory planning projects for private and public sector clients through design and consultancy.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking an Associate Urban Planner to join their Perth team and play a key role in the delivery of projects across metropolitan Perth and regional WA.
The Role As an Associate Planner, you will work across a broad range of planning projects, providing expert advice and managing project outcomes from inception through to approval. You will collaborate with developers, government agencies, consultants, and key stakeholders to deliver high-quality planning solutions across residential, commercial, industrial, infrastructure, and mixed-use developments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing strategic and statutory planning projects across Western Australia.
- Preparing and reviewing planning reports, scheme amendments, structure plans, and development applications.
- Providing planning advice to clients, project teams, and stakeholders.
- Liaising with local and state government authorities.
- Managing client relationships and contributing to business development activities.
- Mentoring junior planners and supporting the growth of the planning team.
- Representing clients at council meetings, stakeholder workshops, and planning forums.
About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A degree qualification in Urban and Regional Planning or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience within planning consultancy, local government, or property development.
- Strong knowledge of the Western Australian planning framework.
- Experience delivering both strategic and statutory planning projects.
- Excellent report writing and stakeholder engagement skills.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Strong commercial awareness and a client-focused approach.
- Membership (or eligibility for membership) with the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA).
