About the role

Piara Waters Medical Centre is seeking a Medical Receptionist to join our team on a casual basis for a start. Happy to transition to a permanent part time or full time position for the right person.

This is a key front-line position located in Piara Waters, WA 6112, where you will be the first point of contact for our patients and visitors. As a Medical Receptionist, you will play a vital role in ensuring our practice runs smoothly and efficiently whilst maintaining the highest standards of patient care and confidentiality. This role is essential to our commitment to providing an excellent patient experience and supporting our clinical and administrative teams.

What you'll be doing

- Greeting patients and visitors in a warm, professional and courteous manner upon arrival

- Managing reception desk activities including answering telephones, taking messages and directing calls to appropriate staff members

- Scheduling and confirming patient appointments using medical practice management software

- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation in compliance with privacy legislation

- Processing patient registrations and collecting relevant personal, medical and insurance information

- Managing patient check-in and check-out procedures at the beginning and end of appointments

- Handling patient enquiries regarding appointments, services, fees and general practice information

- Processing payments and managing cash handling procedures according to practice protocols

- Assisting with general administrative tasks including filing, photocopying and data entry

- Maintaining a clean, organised and welcoming reception area

- Supporting the clinical team with administrative requirements as needed

What we're looking for

- Previous experience working in a medical reception or healthcare administration environment is required.

- Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks effectively





- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional and courteous manner

- Proficiency with computers and medical practice management software

- Demonstrated ability to maintain patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally

- Strong customer service skills with a genuine commitment to providing excellent patient care

- Reliable, punctual and flexible approach to work, particularly given the casual nature of the role

- A calm demeanour and ability to remain professional under pressure
