Position Details
The HASS Learning Area provides students with learning experiences and programs of teaching that reflect the Western Australian HASS Curriculum and SCSA Courses related to all aspects of Humanities and Social Science. The Head of Learning Area (HOLA) is a Middle Leader who is responsible for the leadership and management of HASS teaching staff, resources, reporting, planning, goal setting, change initiatives and teaching and learning programs from Years 7 to 12.
The HOLA coordinates a team who utilise resources and technology to support teaching and learning activities that meet the learning needs of all students. The successful applicant will be responsible for promoting and developing the standard of excellence in HASS learning, ensuring a dynamic, innovative, reflective and engaging approach to teaching.
In addition to curriculum leadership,
the HOLA will mentor and support staff, encouraging qualified growth and collaboration. The role requires close collaboration with other Learning Areas, senior leadership, and the broader school community to ensure the HASS-related goals align with the College’s strategic plan, vision, mission and values.
Strong organisational and communication skills are essential for managing the diverse responsibilities of this role, including planning, resource allocation and student progress tracking and monitoring.
