Software Engineer

The Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission seeks to engage two suitably qualified and experienced Software Engineers to support several current and upcoming ACIC ICT projects.

Essential criteria

• Minimum of 5 years experience in software development

• Demonstrated experience in the development of business systems in Java, primarily using JEE frameworks or equivalent (such as Spring)





• Broad knowledge and experience in the configuration and use of tools required for software development; as well as expertise in the setup of settings to execute Java-based applications in both Unix and Windows, using JEE containers (such as Tomcat)

• Ability to work independently in a technical role as part of a multidisciplinary team and build a culture embodying transparency, efficiency and quality

• Ability to work constructively with multiple technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Demonstrated knowledge of elements of contemporary information technology infrastructure into which software is deployed, including those relating to networking, software containers, messaging and security

Desirable criteria

• Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, including demonstrated ability to maintain productive working relationships and to liaise effectively with Senior Executive Officers to reach an agreement on complex matters relating to ICT software development and delivery
