Our client is a well established restaurant inspired by Chinese cuisine. The Company is looking for a an experienced trade qualified cook and/or chef to prepare and cook quality food, and manage the kitchen in this excellent CBD location.

Requirements for Cook:

-AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training or at least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications

Requirements for Chef:

-AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma or at least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications

You will need extensive knowledge and experience in
Preparation, seasoning and cooking food to hygiene regulation
Following recipes and operating kitchen equipment
Exercising portion control

-Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation
Demonstrating an understanding of Australian food safety and HACCP
Stock and inventory control
Plating and presentation skills
Demonstration of an extensive variety of culinary techniques
Ability to train staff as required

About you:

-Relevant qualifications in Commercial Cookery





-Relevant experience in a premium restaurant/banquet kitchen
-Enthusiasm and creative approach to providing high-quality cuisine
-Availability to work weekends and public holidays as required within a rotating roster
-Well presented, punctual and reliable

-Be able to help to plan and develop menu's

-Ability to keep your section clean and organised with a positive understanding of work flow and structure
-Ability to prioritize and work under pressure
-A passion for quality food and produce
-Own transport required

Salary for Cook: $70,000-$78,000 p.a + superannuation

Salary for Chef: $75,000-$85,000 p.a + superannuation
