Virtus Infrastructure is seeking skilled and reliable Plant Operators, with a focus on Excavator Operators, to join our team. We deliver mechanical and civil construction solutions across water, rail, road, and electrical sectors in the Sydney Metro area. If you have experience operating heavy machinery on infrastructure projects, we want you on board.

Key Responsibilities:
Operate excavators and other heavy machinery for earthworks, trenching, pipe laying, and site preparation
Perform daily pre-start checks and routine maintenance on plant equipment
Ensure all operations are carried out safely and in compliance with project specifications and safety standards
Work collaboratively with ground crews and supervisors to complete tasks efficiently
Read and interpret site plans, layouts, and specifications
Operate machinery with precision and care to minimize disruptions and damage
Adhere to all environmental regulations and site-specific requirements

Qualifications and Skills:




Proven experience operating excavators and other heavy plant machinery in civil construction projects
Current plant operation tickets and licenses (e.g., excavator, roller, skid steer)
White card and other relevant safety certifications (e.g., confined space, working at heights)
Robust understanding of safety regulations and industry standards
Ability to read and follow construction plans and site instructions
High attention to detail and precision in machine operation
Valuable communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
Reliability and a strong work ethic
