Overview

We are looking for an experienced Linux Engineer to join our client on a contract basis, supporting the design, build, and optimisation of Linux-based infrastructure environments.
This role will focus heavily on automation, containerisation, and scripting, with an immediate need for someone who can contribute from day one and deliver high-quality technical outcomes in a quick-paced workplace.

Key Responsibilities
Deploy, configure, and support Linux environments across enterprise infrastructure
Administer and maintain distributions such as Red Hat, Fedora, Debian, or Ubuntu
Develop and enhance automation frameworks using Ansible
Build and manage containerised workloads using Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift
Write scripts (primarily in Python) to automate operational processes and reduce manual effort
Troubleshoot system issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement fixes
Improve system performance, scalability,



and reliability

Key Skills & Experience
Strong hands-on experience with Linux (such as RHEL, Fedora, Debian, Ubuntu)
Solid experience with Ansible for configuration management and automation (AAP or Core/Tower)
Practical experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift)
Solid scripting capability in Python (Bash also beneficial)
Understanding of networking concepts and system performance tuning

Desirable Experience
Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Experience working in DevOps or platform engineering teams
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform)
Experience in enterprise-scale or highly regulated environments
