Lead Architecture for a Large-Scale Logistics Network

We’re seeking an experienced Solution Architect to play a key role in shaping and delivering technology solutions across a complex national logistics and network operations workplace.

This role sits within a major enterprise technology function supporting large-scale operational networks and freight/logistics capabilities. You will work across multiple strategic initiatives, translating business needs into scalable, future‑ready technology architectures.

You’ll partner closely with program delivery teams, engineering, and senior business stakeholders to design solutions that enable transformation across the end‑to‑end operational value chain.

Key Responsibilities
Develop solution architecture designs and documentation for major programs and projects within the network operations portfolio.
Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture principles, technology strategy, and roadmaps.
Evaluate business and technical requirements and propose scalable architecture options across existing and recent platforms.
Provide architecture governance and technical leadership during project delivery phases.




Work closely with delivery teams, vendors and stakeholders to ensure solutions are implemented in line with approved architecture.
Contribute to technology strategy, business cases and financial estimations for major initiatives.
Represent architecture in governance forums and support enterprise‑wide technology planning.
Build robust relationships with business and technology stakeholders, including senior leadership.

We are particularly interested in candidates with exposure to large-scale logistics, transport, or distributed operations environments.

Ideally you will have experience with:
Transport Management Systems (TMS)
First, middle and last mile logistics operations
End‑to‑end fulfilment value chains (acceptance, processing, line haul, delivery)
Large enterprise IT transformation or modernisation programs
Architecture across cloud, SaaS platforms, APIs, microservices and event‑driven systems

Experience working across complex operational networks, large field workforces, or logistics platforms will be highly regarded.
