Profectus is seeking experienced Site Reliability Engineers for a major Australian Government program. These roles suit hands‑on engineers who can operate and control production infrastructure, keeping business‑critical systems reliable, secure, performant and available, working closely with stakeholders and delivery partners.

Key Responsibilities
Operate and control IT infrastructure across on‑premises, cloud and hybrid settings
Monitor system and service performance, availability and reliability, and report on load and performance
Respond to incidents and problems, coordinating resolution and root‑cause analysis
Automate the provisioning, testing, deployment and monitoring of infrastructure components
Perform maintenance, patching and system backups in line with agreed standards
Contribute to reliability improvements, resilience and continuous improvement
Maintain accurate operational documentation, runbooks and configuration records

Required Experience
Solid site reliability or infrastructure operations experience with automation and observability tooling
Experience operating and supporting business‑critical production systems, including incident and problem management




Familiarity with infrastructure management and infrastructure‑as‑code tooling
Australian Government experience as a minimum, with strong problem‑solving and documentation skills
Ability to operate effectively both independently and within integrated, multi‑vendor delivery teams
AWS or Azure experience, including containers and orchestration
Experience with observability tooling such as Splunk or AppDynamics
Experience delivering within agile or scaled‑agile (Protected) environments
Relevant cloud or SRE certifications

Security Clearance Requirements
Must be an Australian Citizen
Must hold a Baseline security clearance (minimum)

Working Arrangements
Hybrid; predominantly onsite with periodic work from home where appropriate
Canberra preferred
Candidates based in VIC, NSW, SA or QLD may also be considered
