Industrial Sand Blaster | Temp-to-Perm
About the Role
Our client is a leading heavy transport equipment manufacturer looking for a skilled Industrial Sand Blasters to join their busy workshop team. This is a fantastic temp-to-perm opportunity. You will start on a rewarding casual rate of $52.50/hr (inclusive of 25% casual loading) for the first 6 months. After successfully completing this period, you will transition to a permanent full time position at $42.50/hr plus standard permanent perks (annual leave, sick leave, and job security). You will work within a state-of-the-art, 25,000-square-metre facility, joining a highly productive team dedicated to high-volume heavy transport manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
Abrasive Blasting: Operate commercial blast rooms and pressure vessels safely to prepare heavy steel frames for paint.
Surface Prep: Achieve precise industrial profiles and remove scales/rust from raw structural steelwork.
Booth Maintenance: Manage grit media, clean equipment,
and keep blast chambers running efficiently.
Safety Adherence: Strictly follow safety protocols and wear full blast helmet/breathing apparatus gear.
What We Are Looking For
Experience: Solid background in industrial sandblasting or heavy vehicle abrasive blasting.
Capability: Physically fit, reliable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing line.
Equipment Knowledge: Proficient with blast nozzles, pressure pots, and industrial blasting safety gear.
Local Commuters: Ideally living in Truganina, Derrimut, Laverton, or surrounding western suburbs.
