Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in building a robust Aboriginal evidence base and strategic partnerships that strengthen Aboriginal-led policy, practice and service delivery in Aboriginal family services. You will support evidence collection, evaluation, partnership development and knowledge translation, ensuring VACYPA’s work is grounded in Aboriginal ways of knowing and the voices of Aboriginal communities.
Working closely with VACYPA’s Member ACCOs, government, research partners and other sector stakeholders, you will contribute to the design, implementation and translation of evidence that supports culturally secure, community-led practice and service improvement helping advance VACYPA’s vision of all Aboriginal children and young people thriving and being raised safely in Aboriginal families and communities.
Responsibilities
Coordinate evidence collection and analyse themes from Communities of Practice and consultations
Support evaluation activities, monitor outcomes, and contribute to evaluation frameworks
Translate evidence into practice and develop evidence resources for sector learning
Build and maintain relationships with research partners and stakeholders
Support team-oriented projects, planning, reporting and organisational priorities
Promote culturally responsive practice across all areas of work
What We’re Looking For
Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants.
A demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal self-determination and the Victorian child and family services system
Experience working with Aboriginal organisations or communities, with a genuine commitment to Aboriginal community-controlled approaches
Solid project coordination skills
The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a complex, energetic setting
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Desirable: qualifications in community services, social work, education, business, project management or a related field
