The Opportunity Looking for your next career move? Join Hunter New England Local Health District and become part of a supportive, experienced Medical Imaging team delivering high-quality care across the New England North West.

As a Radiographer Level 3 Grade 3 (Sonographer), you'll provide advanced ultrasound services across a broad range of examinations, including abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, vascular, paediatric and small parts imaging. Working alongside skilled Radiologists and multidisciplinary professionals, you'll provide expert clinical advice, produce high-quality imaging and reports, and play an significant role in supporting patient care and clinical decision-making.

Based at Tamworth Hospital,



you'll enjoy a diverse and rewarding caseload while participating in a 7-day rotating roster, including on-call responsibilities, and providing outreach services to satellite facilities across the region. You'll also mentor students and developing clinicians and contribute to service improvement initiatives, making a meaningful impact on regional healthcare.

About You

Postgraduate qualifications in Medical Sonography with current ASAR accreditation.
Current AHPRA registration (or eligibility for registration) and a current NSW EPA Radiation Licence.
Demonstrated experience performing a broad range of ultrasound examinations, including paediatric imaging.
Excellent communication skills, sound clinical judgement, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

A strong commitment to delivering safe, high-quality, patient-centred care with a focus on clinical excellence and continuous improvement.

Requirements

Degree in Medical Radiation Science (Diagnostic Radiography) or equivalent.
Eligible for registration with Australian Health Professionals Registration Authority (AHPRA), hold/ current NSW EPA Radiation licence and ASAR accreditation.
Post graduate qualification in Medical Sonography and registration with the Australian Sonographers Accreditation Registry (ASAR).

Participate in the Rosters, overtime and on-call duties as required by the site, and which may change from time to time.

Additional Information

- Based on a minimum 18-month commitment to the position or the agreed duration of your contract. All payments to part-time and contract employees will be made on a pro-rata basis in accordance with the terms of your contract, including any approved extensions. If your contract ends before the agreed completion date, you may be required to repay a portion of the incentive.

To be eligible for permanent employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport.
