Foreign Military Sales Specialist – High-Profile Defence Program

Play a pivotal role in a major national security program, leading Foreign Military Sales (FMS) documentation and analysis to support Australia’s transition to next-generation targeting and intelligence capabilities alongside US and FVEY partners.

You’ll work closely with stakeholders to prepare key government submissions (including DEF109), shape options and recommendations, and ensure complex requirements are clearly understood and implemented in a sensitive, high-impact environment.

Location: Canberra, ACT
Contract Duration: 6-7 months with possible extensions

Security Clearance Requirement: Current NV1 security clearance (Australian citizens only)

Essential Tasks

- Prepare government submission documentation and related FMS project artefacts.
- Understand and document client requirements, collect data and provide analysis to resolve complex FMS issues.
- Identify, evaluate and recommend solution options, including implementation approaches where required.
- Collaborate with and facilitate stakeholder groups to ensure proposed solutions are clearly understood and effectively adopted.

Key Criteria





- Experience in Foreign Military Sales, defence acquisition, or complex government procurement and submission processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including preparation of structured government documentation and options papers.
- Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholder groups, including senior executives and multinational/FVEY partners.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex requirements into clear recommendations.
