What we need from you

- Proven experience with Google Distributed Cloud (GDC), GKE Enterprise, and Anthos.
- Strong capability in Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) for offline or air-gapped environments.
- Deep Kubernetes engineering experience including cluster creation, upgrades, node image pipelines, and GitOps/ACM in disconnected environments.
- Knowledge of offline CI/CD workflows, private registries, and mirrored repositories.
- Familiarity with PSPF, ISM, Essential Eight, and internal governance standards.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Australian Citizenship and NV1 Security clearance (or baseline clearance ready to upgrade).

Role

We are looking for a Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) SME to join a Federal Government client program and lead the design, build, and deployment of air-gapped Kubernetes-based cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

- Design, build, and secure GDC Air-Gapped clusters and network architecture aligned with offline constraints.
- Develop and maintain Terraform modules, Kubernetes manifests, and policy bundles for fully offline deployments.
- Configure and deploy GKE Enterprise clusters, Anthos services, and private registries using deterministic pipelines.




- Establish and maintain disconnected CI/CD workflows and mirrored repositories for container images, Helm charts, and Terraform modules.
- Conduct SIT/UAT, controlled environment builds, cluster lifecycle validation, and upgrades.
- Ensure compliance with PSPF, ISM, Essential Eight, and internal governance policies.
- Produce detailed documentation, runbooks, testing artefacts, and handover materials.
- Collaborate with security, cloud, networking teams, and third-party vendors to resolve blockers and ensure timely delivery.

Skills You'll Bring:
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud, GKE Enterprise, Anthos, and offline cloud deployments.
- Strong expertise in Terraform, Kubernetes, GitOps, and IaC.
- Knowledge of offline CI/CD workflows, private registries, and mirrored repositories.
- Familiarity with government security frameworks (PSPF, ISM, Essential Eight).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
