About the role
The Rehabilitation Engineer, Senior delivers high-level rehabilitation engineering services within the Rehabilitation Engineering Centre at STARS. Working as a specialist practitioner within a multidisciplinary environment, the role supports clients across the continuum of care through the assessment, design, prescription and development of assistive technology solutions that enhance independence, safety and quality of life.
The successful candidate will manage a complex clinical caseload and undertake a broad range of activities including clinical assessment, case management, research, education and service development. The role requires a high degree of professional autonomy and contributes to advancing rehabilitation engineering practice through innovation, quality improvement and collaboration with healthcare professionals, researchers and stakeholders.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Deliver high-level rehabilitation engineering services, including assessment, design, prescription and implementation of assistive technology solutions for clients with complex needs.
- Apply independent professional judgement and advanced clinical expertise to manage a complex caseload and deliver evidence-based rehabilitation engineering interventions.
- Contribute to the development of clinical practices, procedures,
protocols and educational resources that enhance service quality and support positive client outcomes.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, clients, carers and stakeholders to support integrated, person-centred care across the continuum of service delivery.
- Lead and contribute to research, quality improvement, clinical supervision and professional development activities that advance rehabilitation engineering practice.
