Job Description

The Journey Connect Transport Officer plays a vital role in supporting the Journey Way Program and wider Indigenous Health Service Division by ensuring First Nation patients are safely and respectfully transported as part of their health care journey.

About the Candidate

Mandatory qualifications and proof of registration

- To perform this role, it is essential that the person who holds the position be an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. It is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 that applicants are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders.
- Appropriate manual handling compliance. The appointee to this position will be required to carry out frequent and repetitive lifting, manual handling of goods and patients.
- Possession of/or ability to acquire First Aid and Basic Life Support Qualifications.
- National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Worker Screening Check: As a Health Care worker in Queensland Health who engages in risk-assessed roles, you must hold a current disability check (Yellow Card or Yellow Card Exemption) or a NDIS worker screening check.
- Blue Card Checks: Potential applicants are advised that the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian Act 2000 requires Queensland Health to seek a 'working with children check' from the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian prior to appointment to this position.
- Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD): This is a VPD risk role.

Competitive salary and benefits

- Salary range: $35.04 to $36.73 per hour (OO3)
- 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
- Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available
