About Central Gippsland Health
Central Gippsland Health is the major provider of acute, aged care and community health services across the Wellington Shire, serving more than 42,000 people while delivering specialist services throughout East Gippsland.

About the Role
As a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist, you will provide specialist care across inpatient, outpatient and emergency settings while contributing to the ongoing development of high‑quality maternity and women's health services.
You will play an important leadership role, working closely with junior medical staff, midwives, nurses and allied health professionals to deliver safe, evidence‑based, woman‑centred care.
The role includes:
Comprehensive obstetric care
Antenatal and outpatient clinics
Emergency obstetric and gynaecological care
Theatre lists and procedural work
Participation in clinical governance and quality improvement
Teaching and mentoring junior doctors and multidisciplinary staff
You will also support the implementation and ongoing development of the CGH Maternity Services Plan, helping to deliver contemporary, woman‑centred maternity care informed by national best practice.
About You
You are a collaborative and compassionate Obstetrician & Gynaecologist who is committed to providing high‑quality care and supporting positive outcomes for women and their families.
Essential requirements include:
Current registration (or eligibility for registration) with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA)
Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG), or eligibility as assessed by the College
Demonstrated experience across obstetrics and gynaecology
Excellent communication, leadership and teamwork skills
Commitment to clinical excellence, patient‑centred care and continuous improvement
Interest in education, mentoring and service development

About Sale
Central Gippsland Health (CGH) is a sub‑regional health service and the major provider of health and aged care services in the Wellington Shire.
CGH is located in the City of Sale which is 215 km east of Melbourne. The City of Sale is an ideal access point for the magnificent Gippsland Lakes, 90‑Mile Beach and the Victorian Alps.
CGH provides acute care as part of an integrated service delivery model across Wellington Shire and beyond. The service provides beds across three campuses (Sale, Maffra and Heyfield).
Acute services include a full‑time emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal critical care unit, three operating theatres, day procedure unit, oncology and dialysis services in addition to general medical and services and sub‑acute services including rehabilitation.
CGH also provides aged care and community services in the Wellington Shire and beyond.
We operate four residential aged care homes located in Sale, Maffra, and Heyfield delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care in supportive and homelike environments.
CGH provides a wide range of community‑based services that support people to remain healthy, active, and independent in their own homes. This includes the provision of Support at Home, Commonwealth Home Support Programs, and other in‑home services tailored to individual needs.
Our integrated model of care is supported by a multidisciplinary allied health team offering physiotherapy, dietetics, occupational therapy, speech pathology, and social work. We also provide accessible public dental services to enhance community wellbeing.
CGH is also a leading teaching hospital, affiliated with Monash University's School of Rural Health and provides placements and clinical experience for students.
