Overview Permanent part-time (48 hours per fortnight)An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Learning and Development Unit at West Gippsland Healthcare Group in the role of Clinical Maternity Educator. Reporting to the Learning and Development Manager, the Clinical Maternity Educator (CME) provides educational leadership and guidance to maternity staff and students through the identification, development and delivery of learning opportunities that support excellence in maternity care.

Working closely with the Maternity Unit Manager and the Learning and Development team, the CME plays a key role in building workforce capability, supporting student placements, facilitating competency programs and promoting evidence-based clinical practice. We are seeking expressions of interest from experienced and enthusiastic midwives who are passionate about education, workforce development and supporting high-quality woman-centred care.

The successful applicant will work collaboratively across the organisation to deliver innovative learning programs and foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth. This rewarding role would suit a highly motivated midwife with extensive clinical experience across the pregnancy and birth continuum who enjoys mentoring others, facilitating learning and driving positive outcomes for staff, students and women receiving maternity care. Responsibilities The Clinical Maternity Educator provides educational leadership and guidance to maternity staff and students by identifying, developing and delivering learning opportunities that support excellence in maternity care.

You will: Collaborate with the Maternity Unit Manager and Learning and Development team to build workforce capability. Coordinate and support student placements and supervise competency programs.



Promote evidence-based clinical practice across the maternity continuum. Deliver innovative learning programs and foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth. Mentor staff and contribute to the career development of the maternity team. Qualifications and experience The following experience/qualifications are required: Registration as a Registered Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. Extensive post-registration clinical experience in Midwifery (minimum 5 years). Postgraduate qualifications in Midwifery or equivalent. Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116), relevant tertiary education qualification, or willingness to work towards obtaining this qualification within an agreed timeframe. Demonstrated recent clinical experience across the pregnancy and birth continuum. Evidence of ongoing professional development. High-level clinical skills across the continuum of pregnancy and birth. Knowledge of contemporary midwifery practice and issues. Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills. Demonstrated ability to identify, develop and deliver learning opportunities for maternity staff and students. Advantageous experience/qualifications: Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Power Point and Excel. Benefits West Gippsland Healthcare Group staff benefits include:
