The Opportunity
Moonee Valley City Council is seeking an experienced and results-driven marketing leader to join our Advocacy, Communications and Engagement team as the Coordinator Marketing.
This is a key leadership role responsible for driving Council's marketing function and ensuring the successful delivery of marketing initiatives that increase community awareness, participation and service uptake. Leading a talented marketing team, you'll work closely with senior leaders and stakeholders across the organisation to deliver integrated campaigns that promote Council's services, programs, facilities and events, strengthen brand recognition and support organisational priorities.
With responsibility for campaign delivery, brand management, digital marketing and creative services, you'll ensure Council's marketing activities are audience-focused, data-informed and deliver measurable outcomes. You'll also play an important role in supporting business areas across Council to effectively promote their services and connect with the community through targeted and engaging marketing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading the delivery and evaluation of integrated marketing campaigns across the organisation
- Providing expert marketing advice and support to senior leaders and stakeholders
- Driving awareness, participation and service adoption through targeted marketing initiatives
- Overseeing Council's brand and visual identity, ensuring consistency across Council and its sub-brands
- Leading digital marketing activities, including Meta and Google advertising campaigns
- Developing high-quality marketing assets and promotional collateral across a range of channels
- Using audience insights and demographic data to optimise campaign effectiveness
- Coaching, mentoring and developing marketing team members
- Managing budgets and ensuring sound governance and financial accountability
- Building strong partnerships across the organisation to support effective promotion of Council services, programs and events
Skills & Experience
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in marketing, communications, public relations or a related discipline, and/or equivalent industry experience.
- Significant experience developing and delivering complex marketing initiatives, campaigns and projects within a large or multifaceted organisation.
- Robust understanding of brand management, audience engagement and the delivery of marketing activities across traditional and digital channels.
- Demonstrated experience managing advertising and promotional activities, including digital marketing platforms such as Meta and other paid media channels.
- Highly developed interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of an organisation.
- Proven experience leading, developing and supporting high-performing teams in a collaborative environment.
- Experience managing budgets and resources, with a strong understanding of governance, accountability and organisational requirements.
- Demonstrated commitment to compliance, continuous improvement and the consistent application of organisational policies, procedures and brand standards.
