Haematology and Bone Marrow Transplant Unit

About the role

We are now inviting Registered Nurses who are committed to delivering safe, timely, equitable and person-centred care (STEP) to join our Haematology and Bone Marrow Transplant Unit.

The Haematology and Bone Marrow Transplant Unit is a 32-bed specialised service providing complex, high-acuity care to patients with:

- Acute leukaemia
- Non-malignant haematological conditions
- Allogeneic bone marrow transplants
- Patients within the VCCC Alliance

The ward is supported by a strong multidisciplinary and nursing leadership structure including Clinical Nurse Educators, a Clinical Resource Nurse and Health Assistants in Nursing, fostering a culture of learning, collaboration and clinical excellence.

Nurse ratios support safe care delivery:

- 1:3 during daytime shifts
- 1:5 overnight

Key Accountabilities

- Provide safe, holistic, and evidence-based nursing care to patients.
- Complete timely assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Work collaboratively with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team to deliver person-centred care.
- Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and qualified practice.




- Contribute to a positive workplace culture guided by People First, Leading with Kindness, and Excellence Together.
- Identify and escalate risks, changes in patient condition, and safety concerns appropriately.

About You

- Current Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
- Demonstrate strong clinical reasoning, communication and prioritisation skills
- Practices within scope and seeks support when required
- Committed to professional development and reflective practice
- Consistently role-models RMH values and safe work practices
- Previous experience within haematology and bone marrow transplant would be highly regarded
