Moranbah Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join its Emergency Department on a nine-week contract from 31 August to 1 November 2026. Based in regional Queensland, this role offers the opportunity to work across ED and acute settings with a rotating roster of 8- and 12-hour shifts, working up to 80 hours per fortnight. The position is remunerated at AUD55.65 to AUD70.82 per hour, with overtime available beyond 80 hours per fortnight.

Preferred Requirements

- Solid experience in emergency nursing, with demonstrated competence in fast-paced ED environments




- Background in rural nursing, or willingness to adapt to a regional healthcare setting
- Proficiency with electronic medical record systems, ideally ieMR, FirstNet, PowerChart, or HBCIS
- Robust clinical assessment and prioritisation skills in high-acuity situations
- Previous experience with Queensland Health or Mackay Hospital and Health Service is advantageous

Preferred Qualifications

- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse in Australia
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification or willingness to obtain it
- Post-graduate qualification or demonstrated experience in emergency or acute care nursing
