The trustee for Sky Labb Discretionary Trust SkyLabb Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Painter to join our team on the Gold Coast. This is a full time position involving external painting and protective coating work on high-rise residential and commercial buildings using industrial rope-access systems. Position summary
The Painter will carry out skilled painting work on high-rise residential and commercial buildings across the Gold Coast. The role involves preparing and painting external building surfaces while working at height using industrial rope-access systems. The successful applicant must be a qualified painter with previous full-time experience painting high-rise buildings.
Main duties Inspect and prepare external building surfaces by washing, scraping, sanding, grinding, filling cracks and sealing surfaces. Select, prepare and mix paints, primers and protective coatings. Apply coatings using brushes, rollers and spray equipment.
Perform painting work at height using industrial rope-access systems. Protect surrounding areas and secure tools and materials when working at height. Inspect completed work for coverage, adhesion and finish.
Clean and maintain painting equipment and work areas.
Follow site safety procedures and directions from the IRATA Level 3 Rope Access Supervisor. Requirements Certificate III in Painting and Decorating, or an equivalent recognised trade qualification.
Current IRATA Level 1 Rope Access certification or higher. At least two years of experience in high-rise painting using industrial rope access. Experience with external surface preparation, primers, paints and protective coatings.
