The Opportunity

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced taxation and compliance skilled to lead critical governance and remediation initiatives in a complex organisational environment.

- Position Status - Full-Time - Fixed Term to 30 June 2027

- Position Remuneration - LGOA Level 6 - $109,838 base annual salary

- $124,675 total remuneration package which is based on a permanent full-time employee and inclusive of 12% employer superannuation and 17.5% leave loading

- Closing Date - 11:59pm (AEST) Sunday 16 August 2026

About You

You’re an experienced taxation or compliance professional with strong technical knowledge across areas such as Fringe Benefits Tax and Superannuation Guarantee. You take a practical, solutions focused approach to identifying risk, improving governance and delivering compliant outcomes, and can clearly communicate complex requirements to a broad range of stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the delivery of key taxation compliance projects,



with a primary focus on Fringe Benefits Tax and Superannuation Guarantee obligations.
- Identify, assess and remediate taxation and compliance risks through retrospective reviews, analysis and practical governance solutions.
- Provide specialist taxation and compliance advice across finance, payroll, HR and procurement functions to support informed decision-making.
- Develop and embed clear policies, processes and controls to strengthen governance and ensure sustainable, business-as-usual compliance outcomes.

Skills & Experience

- Demonstrated experience leading taxation, superannuation or compliance-focused projects within a complex public or corporate environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of Australian taxation obligations relevant to payroll and employment arrangements, including Fringe Benefits Tax and Superannuation Guarantee.
- Proven ability to identify compliance risk, undertake retrospective reviews and implement practical remediation and governance improvements.
- Well-developed stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex legislative requirements into clear, practical advice.

Qualifications

- Degree qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience in taxation and financial compliance.




- Current C Class driver licence.
- Membership of, or progress toward, a recognised professional accounting body (desirable).
- Experience in a local government or public sector environment (desirable).
