About the Role
Tadano Oceania WA Workshop is a high-output service workshop within the Tadano Oceania branches offering a fully equipped workshop/fabrication bay and resources to the role. This position works across workshop and site environments supporting the welding/fabrication, repair and maintenance needs of our operations. The role is WA based with a requirement to travel regionally and between branches across QLD, SA, NSW and VIC to support our products and service our valued customers as required. Reporting to the WA Workshop Manager, this position offers an exciting opportunity to be exposed to a variety of interesting and specialised fabrication/welding work within the crane industry and develop high level technical repair skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ability to read and follow Welding Procedure Specifications ( WPS)
- Perform high-quality welding and fabrication work according to the required standard
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Proficient in measuring and aligning components
- Assemble/ disassemble mechanical components for welding repairs
- Ensure maximum quality control on all work performed
- Co-ordinate third-party Non-Destructive Testing
- Ensure welding reports and required documentation are completed on time
- Ensure all work is completed safely and within WHS requirements
- Manage welding consumables and equipment for efficiency and reliability
- Work both independently and as part of a workshop team across multiple sites
- Travel regionally and between company branches as required.
What we are looking for in our ideal candidate:
- Trade qualified Welder/Fabricator (Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade (MEM30319 or equivalent )
- Experience in welding high grade quenched and tempered steels
- Experience in welding pressure vessels
- Tickets or certification under Australian Standard AS 1796
- Certifications under International Standard ISO 9606-1
- Competence in GMAW, SMAW, GTAW processes
- A pride in completing high quality work
- Working safely in the construction industry White Card
- Current Driver’s Licence ( Heavy Rigid - if available)
- Overhead crane awareness
- Hold relevant licences: HRWL, Working at Heights, Dogging.
- Willingness to work overtime or regularly travel to suit operational needs
- Ability to work as a collaborative Workshop team member as well as work autonomously when offsite and keep accurate daily work reports and issue reporting
- Understanding of basic systems in construction equipment
- Ability to assist heavy vehicle workshop with mechanical tasks when not welding
- Ability to assist heavy vehicle workshop with rigging tasks when not welding
- Carry out any ad hoc tasks as required by the workshop manager
Training:
- Prospect to be trained to high Tadano level specialised welder standards
