The opportunity

The role will commence on 1 October 2026. You’ll lead the delivery of marketing, communications and events that support DHUD’s priorities. This is a hands-on role for someone who can set direction, bring people with them and deliver quality outcomes at pace.

You will:

- Plan and deliver external communications and marketing activity that strengthens the department’s brand and supports key targets.
- Coordinate internal communications that keep staff informed and engaged.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships and manage suppliers to deliver quality outcomes on time and on budget.
- Coordinate and deliver departmental events, from planning through to on-the-day execution.
- Provide practical, forward-looking advice on marketing and strategic communications, and identify opportunities to lift impact.

About you
You’re a strong all-rounder who can think strategically and execute brilliantly. You write clearly, build trust quickly, and you’re comfortable advising senior leaders in a complex environment.





To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:

- the ability to develop and deliver engaging marketing and communications activities that support organisational priorities and connect with the right audiences.
- strong writing and content development skills, with the ability to tailor messages across different channels and audiences.
- a proven ability to build positive working relationships and collaborate effectively with stakeholders across government, industry and the community.
- experience coordinating successful campaigns and events, with strong planning skills and attention to detail.
- sound judgement and confidence in providing communications advice, including identifying opportunities, managing sensitivities and supporting informed decision-making.
- solid organisational skills, adaptability and initiative, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.

What you need to know

You’ll be required to obtain a National Police Check prior to employment. A renewal will be required every 3 years. Please refer to the role description for all special conditions.

Remuneration:

ASO6 – $ 105,747 min – $111,854 max plus superannuation.
